SIBM Pune was established in 1978 and is the flagship institute under the Faculty of Management of the Symbiosis International University. Since its inception 39 years ago, it has indeed come a long way to become a leading B-School of India. It is currently ranked at #11 in the NIRF Rankings.

The demanding training at SIBM Pune turns students into industry-ready professionals prepared to take on corporate responsibilities. The institute thereby holds an outstanding placement record. The institute has tie-ups with various organizations for co-administering certain selected courses of the curricula. This is done to enrich and update the practical knowledge of students with current business trends and practices. SIBM has a contemporary program structure, with AII firmly embedded in the same.

SIBM Pune is an acknowledged knowledge partner to the corporate sector and has tie ups and MOUs with several corporates for capacity building. It also has MOUs with industry policy making bodies such as the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), as well as with the Government of India through the National Foundation for Corporate Governance, (NFCG), the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme, the Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT), Government of India etc. SIBM Pune is also part of Project Akashdeep of the Indian Air Force, and runs Executive programs for IAF officers.

SIBM Pune is a student-driven institute, with M.B.A. candidates encouraged to participate in the decision-making process that shapes their future as well as that of the institute. The Student's Council at SIBM Pune is the student body responsible and accountable for all activities conducted on campus throughout the year. The teams consist of students from the first and second year led by coordinators.

These coordinators, along with the President of the Student's Council, form an executive body to oversee all activities.

Master of Business Administration

The two-year full-time residential M.B.A. is SIBM Pune's flagship programme, spread across four semesters and offering specialisations in Marketing, Finance, Operations and Supply Chain Management and Data Analytics. The structure of the programme is designed to give students the best in industry exposure and a nurturing classroom environment, to help them become the leaders of tomorrow, in the specialisation of their choice.

A focused course structure equips those interested in this field with the skill set needed to understand, interpret and apply marketing concepts in live corporate scenarios. This specialisation is designed to provide students with a strong base in applied financial management. It helps them in sound financial decision-making, providing a deep understanding of the financial aspects of the economy and the corporate world. The quantitative and analytic skills of the students are enhanced in the process.

Operations and Supply Chain Management
Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Distribution networks have become huge differentiating factors for an organisation as it competes in the market. Dedicated Curriculum for Entrepreneurs
The M.B.A. (Innovation & Entrepreneurship) program is tailored specifically for aspiring entrepreneurs. It combines core business fundamentals with specialized courses such as Creativity and Problem Solving, Design Thinking, Lean Start-up, and Entrepreneurial Finance. Every semester consists of a project where students are encouraged to work on live start-up projects, develop prototypes, and participate in entrepreneurial internships, giving them real-world exposure.
Incubation Support
The program is supported by the Symbiosis Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (SCEI), our technology incubator supported by Dept. of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, which provides mentorship, seed funding, co-working space, and access to investor networks. Many students have successfully incubated their start-ups here.
E-Cell (earlier known as Innovation Council) Activities
The E-cell dedicated to entrepreneurship development hosts regular events across the year such as business plan competitions, start-up conclaves, such as E-Summit, which bring in leading entrepreneurs, investors, and incubators to engage with students. SIBM is proud to host its own Shark Tank event named The Grand Pitch. The previous year's addition of The Grand Pitch (2024) generated funding of 22.5 cr for different start-ups. E-cell also connects students with a network of successful entrepreneurs, alumni, and investors for one-on-one mentoring, which significantly enhances venture development and idea validation.

An exclusive M.B.A. in HRM with AI integration will position the institution as a pioneer in future-ready management education, addressing both industry demand and societal needs.
